  • Ensure the Register by Internet option is selected and select the 'Next' button.
  • Select Download license using the certificate option and select the 'Next' button.
  • Fill out the registration form using the Certificate Number and then select the 'Next' button. The license will be generated and copied to your computer.

  1. Uninstall softWoRx Explorer from the current computer.
  2. Call the Service Hotline at (800) 862-5166 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (PST) with the Certificate Number that was supplied at the time of purchase. The Certificate will be reset for use on a different computer.

  4. Register softWoRx Explorer on the new computer using the Certificate Number.
Q. What are the new installation requirements for Version 2.0?

A. A few changes have been made in installation requirements. They are:

  • Prior to installing the new version the previous version must be uninstalled.
  • Mac OSX 10.4 and above, Windows XP/Windows 7, Linux 7.2 and above.
Q. What are the new installation requirements for Version 2.0 for Mac OSX?

A. There are a few new installation requirements for Mac OSX. They are:

  • Prior to installing the new version the previous version must be uninstalled.
  • Administration rights are required for installation.
  • The application must be installed in the default location of /Applications.
  • Mac OSX 10.4 and above.
Q. Why is the product installed in the home folder in Mac OSX and Linux but not Windows?

A. There are permission issues that have not been resolved with installing the application someplace other than the home folder. Each user of Linux will have to perform installation at this time. Because a license is associated with a computer and not a user, the license can either be downloaded again or the file "softWoRxExplorer_License.key" that is found in the "AppliedPrecision" folder can be copied to each user's "AppliedPrecision" folder.

Q. What customer support is available?

A. Customer support can be obtained through our Service Hotline. Support is only available for issues during installation and for 30 days after download of the software's license key.

Q. What are the hardware and operating systems requirements to use the software?

A. softWoRx Explorer was designed and tested to work in the diverse computer environment of biological sciences.

Computer Systems:

  • Windows 7 / Windows XP
  • Linux 7.2 and above
  • Macintosh OSX 10.4 and above

A minimum of 8+ MB graphics card with a true-color (24 bit+) display is required. A minimum of 256 MB of system memory is required but the software will operate much faster with 512 MB and above. Stacks of images can be quite large. The software loads and manipulates images in horizontal strips so images larger than the allotted memory can be loaded. Approximately 100 MB of hard disk space free is required during the installation depending upon the O/S. A network card is required in the computer even if the computer is not connected to a network. This is a licensed product and the license is associated with the unique ID in the Ethernet cards.
